The LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Coronado (Girls Golf) 2009 season is now in full swing.  There are still a few spaces left.  Girls Golf will not take any new members after Father-Daughter Day in June.  So, if you have an interest in joining . . . the sooner the better to take advantage of our early clinic events.

My time as Site Director since the start-up of the program in 2001 has been fulfilling and fun!  I've seen many girls come-and-stay and come-and-go . . . all of them owning this wonderful game of golf at a fundamental level.  Even if they go on to other sports in youth, they will have the easy option of playing golf as adults having embraced it in their formative years.

I look forward to continuing my involvement with Girls Golf as a volunteer under the leadership of Brenda Gino as the program's new Site Director.  Brenda Gino brings a great perspective to the program.  Three of her daughters have been in the program since 2004 as well as active members of San Diego Junior Golf.  The Gino family is committed to golf and the values that Girls Golf holds so dear - patience, respect, perseverance and honesty - preparing our members to meet the challenges of today's world with confidence.

Girls Golf will also benefit from Mrs. Gino's enthusiasm for the program, creativity and fresh vision.  To compliment our long-time and dedicated LPGA golf instructors - Judy Stillman and Hanna Cohan - Mrs. Gino is inviting guests like Kaitlin from San Diego Junior Golf  and Mark Fernando from the Coronado Golf Course to help expand instruction on course.

I'm sure our members and their parents will experience an improved program under Mrs. Gino's caring direction with ongoing the support of two other dedicated mothers - Allison Logan and Desiree' Bradanini.

I and the girls continue to be grateful to them and everyone else in the photos around this page.  The program would not exist without their generosity, commitment and care.   Their efforts make the program possible, valuable and fun.
